Our first week of Pre-K!

So many backpacks!
What an Artist!
Loving that smile!
Such a sweet group!
Having fun in housekeeping!
Playdoh is so much fun!
Blocks and Trucks make the boys happy!

Dancing to the music!
This bunch of little ones have really surprised us! They are so smart! 7 of the children can already write their name. The rest are very eager to learn. They are obeying the classroom rules well and not the first one has cried at nap time! I believe in all my years teaching that's a first on the first week of school!  They are doing above and beyond what pre k children should do and I am so very proud of each and every one of them.  We start the Abeka program on Monday. I usually wait 2 weeks before I start Abeka to work on Fine motor skills with the children but I believe this group is ready.
they are a loving group and i am so excited to see what this year brings for our class! I will try to update more this weekend.

What an amazing group of children! Some very ready for school, some a little unsure but as someone that has worked with little ones for a very long time, today was an awesome first day!!! I have to admit, I wasn't fully prepared for today. We had just came back from a trip to Texas and I did not have the time to devote to my room like I usually do. I really thought that today would be stressful. I thought that I would go home and take myself a really long nap but here I am, updating the classroom blog!  ALL of the little ones slept at Nap Time and no one cried at nap Time! Yeah! So little ones, Mrs. Tammy will go this weekend and pick us out a really neat fish for our Aquarium. Spend this weekend thinking about what its name will be and what color it will be. See you soon!

First Day Fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my, what a wonderful group of children! They are all so beautiful but then I always have the most beautiful class. Thanks to all the parents for being so patient, I know some struggled to fine  the correct amount of Crayola Crayons. I didn't realize they would sell out so fast at Wal-Mart. We start with the the 8 basic crayons at first so that the children will learn the correct color. After they learn these 8 basic colors then we let them have all the beautiful colors to use! We do use all of the crayons in fact last year we ran out. They break, get lost, and sometimes even get eaten! Ha! Thanks for all the help in labeling everything and thanks to Jennifer and Hilary for staying and helping put up all those supplies! If at any time you have any questions, please contact me by phone at school, home, or cell. Thanks!!
They all adjusted really well today. Only had 2 to cry and one of them stopped within 10 min. The other one had a pretty good first day. Tears off and on but I can tell she will adjust after a little while. Overall, we had a great first day!!  Look for pictures on this blog by Sunday!

Almost Time!!!!!!!

Worked in my class until 10 P.M. last night and I am still here at 3:30 P.M. now. Think I'm going to call it a day and go home and get some much needed rest! Jennifer, Gerald, and I have a full day of running off papers, putting up boards, and organizing tomorrow. Try to come tomorrow night at 6 to OBCA gym  to here the new guidelines on attendance and more. Important info. for Pre-k 4 students is that they MUST wear tennis shoes for gym time daily! They have PE at 8:10, so I am asking that they arrive wearing tennis shoes because I will NOT have time to change 14 little pairs of feet into them! If they would like to wear something different after PE, you may send them another pair of shoes in their backpack.  Also, ALL supplies are due in their classroom by MONDAY. We also ask that all little girls wear shorts under their dresses or skirts please. Also, new this year, if your child brings a lunch, make sure that it is FULLY cooked so that the only thing that the aide will have to do is a quick warm up of the meal. If every child had to warm up their food for 5/6 minutes some would never have enough time to eat. Thanks so much for understanding!  See you soon!!!

Came home from our little trip that we took. We so enjoyed the time away together. Taylor came home from camp and went with us. So hard to believe that she is a senior this year!!! So I am a mom to a 17 and a 13 year old! Welcome to the land of teenagers!  I really am blessed -they get along really well. Of course it could be that they don't see each other every day!  We loved having time with them and I enjoyed visiting several Antique stores and flea markets. Can you believe all I bought was an old Iron mailbox and paper holder to go beside my front door?   Today, I went to work in my classroom and I am now the proud teacher to 14 little 4 year olds! WOW!!!!!   I can see I am going to have to take my B12s every day!!!!!  Planning on working in my class all day tomorrow- So thankful I left everything in really good shape before the Summer began. I mostly have paperwork and dusting left to do. See you soon!!!

Almost time!!!!!!!

Wow! Hard to believe that Summer is almost over!  Learned today that I will be having 13 little ones in my class this year! Oh my!!!! How exciting!! Last year, for the most part, I had 6 little ones in my class. This year will be a challenge but I do my best work when I am challenged. Just started really pulling resources for this school year- been really busy this summer. I am the worst about waiting till the last minute to do things.Excited to see the new little faces this year and the familiar ones as well. Really praying that a certain little one that I had last year will be back. If she isn't- I sure will miss her. She was so shy in class but toward the end she  really was opening up and learning new things. So come back ERJ!!!!  Toward the end of the week, I hope to be posting the daily class schedule on here as well as the first couple of weeks Learning page and Parent Newsletter. See you soon!
