Oh my.......It is so HOT here in Louisiana!!!!!! Thank God for Air Conditioners!!!  Busy with Dentist appointments, Eye doctor appointments and more. Seems like so much to do before school starts back. Trying to fit everything in. I have to say, my yard has been suffering. So busy doing class work and working on projects around the house. Thankfully the garden is producing some wonderful vegetables for us and the neighbors. I have been looking for some figs and was blessed that a friend told me to come get all I want off her trees!!!! So proud that Tracer received a letter to join the Honor Society. We are so proud of Him. Taylor just came back from a cruise and is now working at a Summer Camp. She calls home every week to update us on her fun filled adventures! This weekend looks to be full of activities too! Gerald has to be sworn in again for his next few years in Law Enforcement. It is hard to believe that it has been over 3 years already since he first started working in  police work. He really likes it! Also, Mr. Steve is having his swearing in activities tomorrow also, so we will be attending that. Have a blessed weekend! Hope everyone is enjoying the lazy, crazy days of Summer!

This week has been soooo busy. Tracers has been attending Bible school at the church just 5 minutes up the road from our home, Gerald's been working and I have been reading - alot. I so need to get back on my schedule of doing things around the house. Just had some very good news- my cousin Paul and his sweet wife Kelly are expecting a baby BOY. We couldn't be happier. Don't get me wrong, we love those little girls too, but it has been 10 years since there has been a little boy to love around here! Not sure what his name will be just yet.  Little Miss Ava Mae Hendrix is also expected to make her arrival sometime during July and I know we will love her too.  Lots of little ones to love and spoil!  Keep my aunt Teresa in your prayers. She is the aunt that I told you about in an earlier post that has cancer.  She is doing a lot better but I know that God can completly heal her.

My brother came home from Austin and brought the family a lot of the old fashion bread that we used to buy when we went down to the valley to visit our great-grandmother Sarah. It has been years since she passed away so we don't go to Mission, Texas any more. We were surprised to see the pastries and breads that we remembered from so long ago! They were very tasty too!!!!! Enjoyed our visit and hope to see him again this Summer.
We love little Miss Maddison!!!!  She is so sweet and a very good baby!
Love this glass display dome!
What a cute 4th of July decoration!

Love this for my Garden Shed!!!
We need to clean it up but it works and looks so neat in our Living Room!
Old cans for the brick ledge
Milk glass vase and a really pretty lamp that I am going to paint.
An old record holder. I am going to paint it and use it to hold mail!
And you know I just could not resist picking up something for my class! Last year when we talked about the 50's, the children did not have a clue what a record looked like- so when I saw this one, I knew I had to purchase it for the classroom! Now I have to find a record player!!

These are a few of my finds from the Barn sale and Flea Market!

A good laugh!

Don't Laugh......but I am starting my very first sewing project ever!!!!   Me--who can't even sew on a button!!!!  Ha Ha!!  Not promising what it will look like but I am going to give it a try.  My classroom needs some new curtains, so if this goes well - I might give it a try!

Getting everything around the house in order. Lots of cleaning going on here! Funny how just being away for a while can leave you with so much to do. Enjoying having this new computer but also trying to stay off of it to get things done around the house. My husband has been working a double job for the past few weeks- was so ready when he finally had Sunday off. We spent it going to church and going to a surprise birthday party for Bro. Leo. The Big 50!!!!!   Also enjoyed a quick trip to a Barn Sale. My first and I really loved it. I picked up a large glass dome, old oil can, burlap, old wooden Uncle Sam, and Gerald found a vintage pedastal fan.  It had a $65.00 price tag. The lady said that it had been working but because they could not get it working at the store, she let us have it for $15.75. It is really cool! You know how we like vintage things. Gerald, being an electrician, did some work on the fan and found out that it just had a broken wire.  He already has it working- Yeah!!! Going to look so neat in our living room!!!  Hope that all of you are enjoying your time home and  I can't wait to hear all about your summer. May God keep his loving hand of protection on us all till we meet up again!  Pictures soon!
