What they are learning!

The children are improving daily on their Fine Motor Skills. We have started the Abeka program and will start the writing portion of the program this week. We are working on learning to recognize the letter Ii and the short sound of Letter I.  Example: Igloo
We are also learning our Days of the week.  The children are learning about the days of Creation. They have been making a booklet which will be finished next week. We are counting to ten in English and Spanish. We sing silly songs, Bible Songs, and learning songs. The children are learning to recognize the color red and to spell the color red orally. They are learning responsibility in the classroom. They are responsible for zipping up their backpack, pushing their chair in, keeping their area clean, and putting away their blankets after nap. The children are also learning to recognize their name and the names of their classmates. They are also learning to color within the lines although sometimes they are given a blank piece of paper so they are not required to color in the lines. This is important to help foster their creativity. I love that they are learning all of this, most for the very first time. That is why I think that my job as their teacher is so wonderful....I'm the one that is able to witness all of this!   They are all so precious. Each one has their own unique personality that God gave them. I am so blessed that God picked me to be their teacher.  We will have a Grandparent's Day breakfast on September 29th at 8:15 in the cafeteria. Notes will be sent home soon, so that we can have a total. Kindergarten class will join us as we celebrate Grandparents.
