Something to think about........

Our chapel today was talking about God's love for us and this being the month of love. It made me stop and think about what true love is. I saw love yesterday in my child telling me he cried when he went to the Haven. I saw love in the faces of the parents as they saw their children yesterday. I saw love in April and Roxanne as they devoted their day to helping with the Valentine's Day activities and party. In a world so full of evil and lack of compassion, I realized that I was surrounded by love & I am blessed. I was blessed with beautiful cards and gifts that brought tears to my eyes and joy to my heart. Is my life perfect? No- In fact at this moment in my life I fight pain almost on a daily basis with my back, my home looks like a tornado struck it, I've had people be very unchristian this week but I am still blessed. I have a husband that loves me, I have true friends, I have 2 beautiful and healthy children, I have a wonderful church and church family, great parents, an awesome brother, children that bring joy to my life every day that I'm at work, and most of all- I have the love of God in my heart and life. I am truly blessed. Take a look at your life today, and even if there are things that are in your life that bring you down, do as the Bible says and think on the good things in your life. After all, in the end that is all that really matters.

Valentine's Day in the classroom

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!

Taking a quick break to update while the little ones are napping! It's the calm before the storm! We are getting things together for their Valentine's Day Party! Way too many sweets, stuffed animals, and balloons - but they are only little once, so enjoy. My baby, 13 years old- said to me this morning, "Mom please don't give me anything at school- it's so not cool." WHAT??????  So I guess I'll save that gift card for his Nook Color till we get home!!! His grandparents did send him some balloons and candy- Ha

100th day celebration & wonderful, thoughtful parents

Every year for our 100th day celebration, we ask each child and parents to collect enough money to make 100 dollars. We count the money in class and do various math activities. After the week is over we use that money to buy items for our class that we really need. This year we were working toward a small water cooler for the Pre K 4 and K classrooms. God always supplies our needs. Not only did we have enough money turned in but Nick and Tonya donated big, nice water coolers to both classrooms! We were then able to use the money to purchase other items for our classrooms. Mrs. Vicki in K is using her class money to purchase a table to be used for reading circle and I have ordered several Learning Resources from Oriental Trading and Scholastic. I will have pictures and an update as soon as the materials arrive. Again, THANK YOU so much for all you do!

February Boards

Color Boards

Each month the children bring in one item from home to go on our color board. They bring a variety of items in and I think they turn out great!
