Can you say BUSY?!

Wow, We have been so incredibly busy lately! From Hannah's bridal shower, soccer games, 4-H trips, Awards night and all the planning for special days and trips at school, my world at this moment is incredibly BUSY!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess that is why I am finding it so relaxing working in my yard. When I was talking with Crystal,my neighbor &  teacher, she said that she likes to work in her yard too! She said it's her "therapy"! I can certainly relate! It's something about working in the yard that makes you feel closer to God. I know I find myself praying and thanking Him for everything He has done for me. This weekend I added Calla Lillies,Daylilies, a Julia Child Rose, and Bee Balm to my little yard. May God continue to bless each and every family and may we stop and reflect on God's grace in this busy time in our lives.

Spring Glorious Spring!

What did you think of the weather this weekend?! Couldn't believe how cool it was! We had a great weekend. Hope that you and your family did too! I worked in my yard again this weekend and my husband and son worked on what one year ago was a "club house" and now has turned into a "man cave"! 13 year olds! Ha- I was saying how it would be nice to plant some boxwoods and hostas on the shady side of the "man cave" and my son said " Mom, the only thing I want planted is a thorn bush under the window." Ha Ha
Well enjoy this time with your family- soon it will be too hot to really enjoy the outdoors!

A year later

Well it has  been a year since I begin writing on this blog. I wasn't sure if I would even like trying to keep up with another thing-my life is so full now with 4-H, school work, soccer, youth rally's , and class work. I can honestly say that it has been a joy to maintain. On really busy weeks, I sometimes get behind on updating but I try to update as much as possible. I know from the comments of parents and grandparents that they love the blog and that means a lot to me. I had a parent tell me this weekend that they love the fact that I post on things going on besides just the classroom. They said it makes it more personal. Well- I haven't even thought about it. I just post whatever is on my heart at that moment. Thanks for all the encouragement. It means more to me than you will ever know. Thank You- Love, Mrs. Tammy

PRAYERS NEEDED

Please continue praying for Mrs. Richmond's husband. He is in much need of a miracle. Please remember Mrs. Lynette today -she is not feeling well. Continue praying for our neighbors family- Mr. Keith lost his battle with colon cancer Saturday. Please keep my family in your prayers, this weekend brought a lot of heartache to us as well. My Aunt Teresa was diagnosed with stage 2 Colon cancer and 2 days later my Uncle Brian had a massive heart attack and he is on the vent in ICU. A lot of prayers needed for all.

What makes a house a home

Well I have sure enjoyed my days off from school this week. We have spent a lot of time in the yard and have had several people come up to us while we were working in the yard to tell us they like the "new" look of our home. You see it was brick but then some foundation work had to be done and now it is a light grey siding with wide white trim and I love it! I started thinking about our land that we have in the "country" and if I would like it  there more than I do in town. My husband and I started talking about it and he is so right about something he said. He said it's not whether you live in town or the country, or what type of house you have, it is the love that you put into it to make it a HOME. I started thinking that if you took away all the plants we have planted and things he has made for me for my yard, the place wouldn't look the way it does. It's the little things that make it a home. It's the love that goes into it.  Our home is small and cozy but it is full of love. From the swings my husband built hanging from the pecan trees,to our super cute small garden, to the flowers my mom gives me to add to my plant collection, to the metal sculptures that my husband welded for me for my vines to grow up on- that is what makes our place a home. And I am so very thankful for all that God has blessed us with. There is a scripture in the Bible that says to -Be therefore content with whatever state you are in.- So that is what I try to do- find happiness in the little things. We even have a "Fairy door and small toadstools" connected to the bottom of one of our trees and when the girls came over the other day they were so excited to see that little door! That brought a smile to my face. So enjoy your week and I hope to see you soon!

A very happy Easter Party!

Oh, we had a great time at the Easter Party. I so enjoy when everyone comes together. I guess one of my favorite parts of teaching is not only meeting new children but the parents as well. That is what is so great about living in a small town. I can't even imagine teaching children that their parents are not involved in their lives. The Easter egg hunt at the park went great. The Pre k and k children enjoyed themselves so much! Anna Weatherford took their pictures with Tracer's bunny. He did so well! Over 22 children held him and he did not even put up a fuss. He is such a good bunny. Pictures will be coming soon!!!!!!!!!!!!
